OH MY GIRL’s YooA Invites Us To Her Rooftop

YooA returns with her single album Borderline and title song Rooftop

Ahhh, I am so excited for this debut today you can’t imagine! YooA has always been my favorite member in OMG and her debut song is still one of my favorites by the girls, her first comeback was a bit mid but this comeback and its teasers had me more than excited and hopeful we would be getting a new banger from YooA. I am not sure why WM is doing with her group but even her solo comebacks are stretched out a lot. Oh well, I’ll take it for today, especially since Una is on her way to me today and I get to hug her tonight. Let’s review.

It seems like YooA is not going to stick with one single style with her music but test the waters,… Well, I still think that Bon voyage is and always will be one of her best songs but I guess Selfish was catchy in totality. Rooftop takes us down a more dark and sensual yet edgier territory. YooA is sexy in this one and I am not hating it, I am a simple woman after all. The first thing I noticed about Rooftop was its length, or lack thereof. I could complain but at this point I am used to it. I am also not sure how much of a fan I am of the amount of sing talk in Rooftop but YooA tries to make it work until we get into the “bridge” or second verse of Rooftop, this is where she shines definitely the brightest. Rooftop is alright it is catchy and at its best when it embraces melody. I am a bit disappointed though but I’ll take it.

I was a bit sad when I saw YooA would only give us a single this time around but this still meant we would be getting b-sides and those always deliver. The stand out of this single is definitely Love Myself, now that’s a bop and a half. I love how upbeat and catchy this is. Now listen to YooA when she does pop this is what she excels at!
