Super Junior D&E Release An Unhinged GGB

Super Junior D&E make their first return after leaving SM with mini album 606 and title song GGB.

Not sure why D&E didn’t just do some lyrical editing regarding this song considering it ended up being such a weird controversy to be involved in. However, I was actually really excited for this new mini album because I love D&E and I’m so happy they left SM honestly – good for them! D&E are our favourites in SUJU in general so both Lina and I always enjoy their albums a lot and they are also definitely the superior sub-unit of the group. A duo that gave us Growing Pains, Zero, La La La, Change, Rum Dee Dee and Evanesce II (thank you WOODZ) will always have a special place in our hearts!

The new title is very upbeat, spring-infused and overall such a fun song, at least when it comes to its melody. I think D&E always excel when it comes to straightforward pop tracks and GGB proves that once again. The song suits their style in general and it puts you in a good mood. Considering the weather here is pretty moody and dark, this song comes as some sort of messenger of the spring itself to me. I just think D&E are a great duo musically and because they’re always involved in the process of making their own music, they know exactly what suits them the best. Even though they experimented in the past, I think GGB is a nice comeback to fun pop style they know how to do very well. They both look fantastic as well. I love the styling this era, it really makes them look even more handsome than usual. Donghae, are you even aging? What a beautiful man.

The new album is also loads of fun! It has some pretty catchy b-sides that I’m enjoying right now, as expected from these two. They always have a hidden gem or two on their albums that I end up obsessed with. Like Lina, I think the hidden gem of this new mini album is Twisted as it’s a catchy, summer-like song that puts me in this really good mood. It has a tropical groove to it that suits the duo a lot and I’m loving it right now. Definitely worth checking out even if the title track isn’t your thing – this is such a summer-sounding song, I can feel the sunshine on my face. So groovy.

This album has put me in a good mood!

My favorite honorary non gays are back with new music. I don’t know why but these two will always be the group I associate with Una and I the most. They just mean so much to me on a friendship level and no matter the controversy and the fact I can see why Koreans were upset I was excited for this comeback. D&E always deliver upbeat and summery bangers and I need some sun in my life now, if it is literal or musical I don’t quite care. Well then, let’s review.

GGB is exactly what I expected from a spring D&E comeback, we have the whistles we have the guitar sounds and the bit muted sounded verses that makes it feel like you are already on a road trip. GGB is upbeat full of D&E raps and vocals and honestly gets me up and dancing and makes me forget how bleak my life is for 3 and a half minutes. GGB is fun and catchy and that’s what usually works best for D&E. They just make fun music and I am glad they could find a new home and still stay the same, their music is very recognizable. GGB also has an absolutely stunning music video and the boys look great in it.

The entire mini album is really good, we already heard Rose but I have to say the other songs are just very fun. My personal favorites have to be Twisted and New Balance. These feel very D&E and also very fun. I put those too besides GGB onto my playlist immediately. I am pretty happy with this comeback as a whole. D&E don’t miss!.
