The buzz around Kiss Of Life is crazy to me but honestly, I feel it is also so valid because it was time we got some women debuting back onto the scene. KOL are talented and they have delivered old-school sounding bops to us since debut. The concept photos for this comeback were absolutely stunning but I somehow missed all musical teasers so I had no clue what the comeback would sound like, however, I was pretty intrigued with the song title so let’s review. Well, Midas Touch is exactly what I expected and also different, but in a good way. Everything about Kiss Of Life feels retro and nostalgic and Midas Touch follows this old-school feel of girl groups and I am here to eat it up. I feel like I am transported back to the 00s getting to experience this song. Midas Touch has a nice little melody that is mostly carried by the girls’ vocals and harmonies. The hook is catchy and the bare bone of the instrumental is mostly r&b focus with some dramatic elements. Everything about Midas Touch feels old school and I really like it. The girls also look absolutely stunning in this 4:4 music video. It is truly a visual feast. KOL’s vocals are truly something I like it. The single comes with b-side called Nothing, while the song is also quite nice and vibey Midas Touch is definitely the stronger and clear lead single pick. |
