DREAMCATCHER Are Here To Bring Us Justice

DREAMCATCHER return with their tenth mini album VirtuouS and title song Justice.

Ahhh, I have had a long day and I am dying of cramps but nothing will ever keep me from writing for one of my favorite groups ever. I absolutely love Dreamcatcher and how they always stay true themselves with their sound. Once a pop punk girlie always a pop punk girlie over here and DC are just amazingly catered to me personally and the amount they have grown on me is insane. Well the teaser pictures already promised me greatness so let’s get into the review shall we?

Justice is absolutely amazing I listened to this for the first time just as I left home and I was a bit agitated and this couldn’t have been a better song to destress with, honestly. I think Justice gives us everything DC are good at and caters to all their strength. This has me a little bit worried since for promotions one key member, Siyeon will be missing and this chorus is definitely made for her, she carries is with her strong vocals and it is so catchy. Justice has rap dominated by Dami’s deep tone but also a pre-chorus that is catchy and gets the blood pumping and honestly justice also makes me fight, for my life, every day. Well, besides the vocal being really strong I love how the song starts off with a pretty catchy beat and the instruments just keep getting added to the song, the guitar riffs that get added to the instrumental are insane and makes me enjoy the song even more. You can tell I am sold on Justice and I will be overplaying it.

First of all I love the summer music we have been getting but DC are back with an emo banger smacked into July and it is so good. Okay, let me look at the mini album because I just know these b-sides are going to deliver the same quality as the title track! Well, Una already said enough about the fantastic STΦMP and I can only agree (or is it Stfmp lmao). I also really enjoyed the intro even though it was quite long. 2 Rings is the song the girls are going to promote alongside Justice and honestly deserved because this is an absolute banger. Man this album just made my day and I am so glad I got to enjoy this after a pretty boring work day.

P.S. the girls look absolutely stunning in this music video holy damn.

Dreamcatcher are back and greater than ever! This summer has been marked by upbeat, light tracks so far so I’m very excited to see how Dreamcatcher will use this season to bring a different kind of sound and style. The group, of course, always sticks out from the rest for their unique rock sound and their interesting, dark concepts while still retaining their recognizable melody. One thing about Dreamcatcher is that they will bring that melodic drama in the form of their instrumental and vocals every single time and I have an immense respect for that! Let’s dive deeper into Justice and see what it brings us on this warm Wednesday.

Justice is so very recognizably Dreamcatcher but it also brings this different energy to the table which I’m loving currently. It’s like a combination of that atmospheric drama they do so well, rock elements but also some pretty interesting EDM moments like a cherry on top. The first verse is probably my favourite thing in Justice as it’s so stunning and serves as a fantastic introduction to the song and the instrumental drama that will take place during the chorus. The group’s first 2023 comeback BONVOYAGE grew on me massively because of the insane vocal drama during the choruses and the finale and it seems like Justice took that direction and applied it throughout the entire song making it such a powerful experience for the listener. This is what Dreamcatcher excel at every time – not only brining the kind of sound no one else is doing quite like them, but also confirming every single time how great of a vocalists they are and how powerful they are able to present the song to us. Justice is an absolute hit in my book on the first, second and third listen and I think I will be enjoying it a lot this year. The music video is also very aesthetically pleasing, both dark and light in its palette with just the right amount of visual drama as well.

The new mini album is full of fantastic b-sides, as expected of Dreamcatcher. Their previous few albums have had so many b-sides I ended up listening to more than some title tracks so I’m always excited to dig deeper into their albums. The song that immediately caught my attention was STΦMP! (I’m sure that this is supposed to be from the Greek alphabet but my Cyrillic brain can only see it as an F?) because I’m a sucker for dreamy Dreamcatcher songs with those intense melodies from start to finish. I love the way the verses seem to be somewhat of a melodical warm-up for the instrumental and the chorus to kick in but they keep maintaining this dreamy-like atmosphere during those that I adore. However, STΦMP! is definitely an upbeat track with such a great rock-oriented chorus that really brings all the needed energy. 2 Rings is also a fantastic track as well as the ballad Fireflies. All in all, a great album.

Dreamcatcher are always here to bring something unique to the scene.
