KARA Say I Do I Do That Music Thing So Well

KARA return to us after a year with a new single I Do I Do.

My favourite girls are back! When I Move was such a great comeback song for them and kept getting better and better over time, so I was excited to see what the girls would decide to do musically this time around. We already got the emotional pre-release single to keep us warm and I felt like I Do I Do will keep that dreamy and emotional note to it based on the concept photos as well. They all look so stunning and I feel so bad that Gyuri had that unfortunate accident and hope she’s doing fantastic now. Either way, I’m excited to dive deeper albeit a bit later than I should’ve reviewed this but I’m here so let’s get into it.

I Do I Do is a sweet song, something refreshing and maybe even new in musical style for the group. I feel like a lot of listeners are so used to their hype, energetic, catchy releases that they forget they’re just as capable of making emotional tracks that offer energy and upbeat, whimsical melodies, too. I Do I Do is very dreamy – I feel like this is the best way to describe it – from their vocals to the melody and the song as a whole. It suits this time of the year, making it a lovely listening experience and something I’d gladly turn on when I’m lying in bed late at night with the crickets chirping outside my window. Late summer night, that’s what KARA achieved with I Do I Do and I think, even though I’m biased, that this sound suits them a lot, too. Paired with this pretty, pastel-focused music video that makes you feel like you’re looking at some fairytale, I Do I Do does a good job of offering us KARA’s lovely vocals and a laid-back but still recognizable KARA sound. It’s nice to see they’re trying something different this time around because they do it well.

Always happy to have KARA back, in any musical form they wish and I hope they keep it coming.
