LE SSERAFIM return with their new mini album Crazy and title song of the same name.
Can’t believe it’s already time again for a new LE SSERAFIM comeback. I feel like these girls have been through the wringer since their last comeback? Imma be honest I don’t even remember when that was but also time is an absolute illusion to me because how is it almost September? Hello? Anyway, the concept photos for this comeback looked really cool in my opinion and had me intrigued to see what the girls would bring to us this time. Their songs tend to grow on me a lot with time so let’s review.
Crazy‘s music video had me checking my internet connection a couple of times if I am being honest they kinda did that with those buffering frames. Good job for tripping me up and remembering this music video for a while. Overall, Crazy feels like a very LE SSERAFIM song to me however, I wouldn’t really call it crazy. It feels more like an electronic club song that people might end up voguing to? There is a lot of voice alteration going on to set a certain mood and club beats while make the song feel powerful while at the same time weirdly mellow? I think the hook works just fine for now and the girls’ sound good on the song. Crazy even offers a lot of melody and vocals throughout it but it’s runtime of not even 3 minutes work a bit against Crazy as the moment you are really feeling the song it is over. Well, we will see how Crazy does with time.
The song that stood out to me immediately had to be 1-800-hot-n-fun because what is that cringey ass title I love it. Well good for me is that 1-800-hot-n-fun is a banger and a half and honestly would have been an even “funner” title track and actually crazy title track for LE SSERAFIM whatever this way we get a pretty fun and silly (those lyrics are truly something) b-side that I am gonna overplay a bit too much. another b-side I enjoyed was Crazier which is even more mellow and lowkey than our title track. I guess the concept here was opposites.
