STAYC - "GPT" MV Review

STAYC (스테이씨) is a girl group from High Up Entertainment that debuted on November 12, 2020. The group consists of 6 members: Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J.
"GPT" is the lead single of their digital single "...l" released on October 30.

"GPT"

I love STAYC's debut song, "So Bad," everything about it is really fantastic, especially the original use of their catchphrase, "STAYC girls, it's going down." However, I found every release after "So Bad" to be quite lackluster, which made me lose interest in them – until now.
"GPT" gave me similar vibes to WJSN releases (to be more specific, it made me think of "Secret" while I was listening to it - "GPT" is like a faster-paced sister to "Secret"-). It also gave magical girl-esque vibes (but those are also the kind of vibes that WJSN's songs give me 😅)...
The song is very good; I really like the beginning of the instrumental, which has a very dreamy feeling, it's almost ethereal.

The MV is great; it looks super good. My interpretation of the video is that the STAYC girls are at the "GPT Lab" to cure their unrequited loves (you can read their ailments with their unrequited love starting from 0:41). The cure that "GPT Lab" provides for their heartbreak is a key to a simulated virtual reality world where they have an AI version of the person they have unrequited feelings towards (symbolized by the figures that are covered in white).
The girls are happy living inside the VR world, except for J, who has an iffy feeling about it as she can see that what the lab is doing isn't real (and to be sincere, the lab also has some cultish vibes, no?). During the bridge of the song Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, and Yoon are going to give their souls/feelings (I don't really know what the crystal represents) to the simulator, but J appears just in time to save the girls from the trance the machine had on them. The STAYC girls run away from the lab, and, although they are still sad about their heartbreaks, they go on living a happy life without the coldness from the AI/GPT(?. At least that is what I think happened in the music video...
There are many beautiful scenes in this video, but my favorite scene was at the beginning, where J runs during the night/her nightmare.
I loved the sets used in the music video, especially the ones where they are inside the virtual world (like the set with the super beautiful gate)

Style-wise, I found the white outfits to be really cute, especially Yoon's although hers is a bit odd; it just looks really good. However, my favorite outfits were the crotcheted ones ﹘ they all look super great. By the way, Sieun's hairstyles are really pretty; I love them.
