VIVIZ are here with their 5th mini album Voyage and title song Shhh.
VIVIZ are back after what genuinely feels like 20 years. They decided to drop one of the best recent girl group songs and then leave us craving more but thankfully the trio is back to give us more quality music! I’ve been really excited for this comeback because it also seems like VIVIZ will continue their melodic style but try a different sound to what we’re used to from them – I’m all about finding your own thing and VIVIZ are on their way to that. Let’s dive right into Shhh! and review what VIVIZ decided to bless us with today.
Shhh! is so good. I had to say it right away because this sound for VIVIZ? Oh, I am loving it so much. First of all, the track is so melodic, so catchy, with a great instrumental and smooth, silky vocals as expected. However, I was not prepared for just how wonderful that pre-chorus was going to be! The chorus has a really solid hook, and while it’s repetitive, it’s structured well and gets stuck in your head immediately. Pre-chorus is the star of the show, though. The ahh line sounds so good and there’s just some special feeling to the melody surrounding this section that just had me hooked from the first listen. This is definitely a new sound for VIVIZ and it suits them so much. I’m only sad that Shhh! wasn’t released during the late summer because it would’ve been such a good summer jam with its slightly latin-inspired instrumental and atmosphere. The music video is fun & the girls look as stunning as ever. VIVIZ really did their thing on this one.
Of course, I had to check out the b-sides as well because VIVIZ always hide some great gems on their albums. This time around I think we have another stellar b-side like their Untie, in the form of the catchy, elegant Cliché. I love this kind of attitude in songs, as well as the slightly mysterious melody and atmosphere the song creates. It’s definitely a song worth promoting this comeback because it’s just so good.
VIVIZ, it’s so good to have you back!
Lina: I am a bit too tired today to deliver a full review but Una hard carried. Anyway, I always get excited when VIVIZ deliver a new bop to us and this song is quite fun! I love the groove and the music video had me basically staring at the screen! The end of the song is so good omg.
