Hearts2Hearts is bringing a fresh burst of summer energy with its second mini album ‘Lemon Tang,’ a project built around the message that the members shine brightest when they are together.

The SM Entertainment girl group held a showcase for ‘Lemon Tang’ on June 22 at Blue Square in Yongsan District, Seoul.

The album was released the same day at 6 p.m. KST through major music platforms.

Hearts2Hearts Defines Its Summer Color

With ‘Lemon Tang,’ Hearts2Hearts is making its team identity clearer.

The album follows the group’s earlier release ‘RUDE!’, which helped the members gain momentum during the first half of the year. After showing a bolder side with that track, Hearts2Hearts is now turning toward a brighter and more refreshing summer mood.

Member Jiwoo said the group’s summer song stands out because of its message about togetherness. Rather than focusing only on a sweet or sharp image, ‘Lemon Tang’ expresses how the members become more powerful when they are united.

That message also connects to the group’s name, Hearts2Hearts, which suggests emotions being shared from one heart to another.

‘Lemon Tang’ Mixes Sweet and Tangy Energy

The title track ‘Lemon Tang’ combines the sharp freshness of lemon with the sparkling taste implied by the word “tang.”

The song captures a lively summer feeling through upbeat sounds and energetic rhythms. Its lyrics compare being alone to the sour and sharp taste of lemon, while being together creates a sweeter and more colorful flavor.

Yuha said the song immediately felt like summer when the members first heard the demo. She explained that it was the right track to show Hearts2Hearts’ bright and cheerful energy.

Kenzie, who previously worked on several of the group’s songs, participated in the lyrics again. Through the song, the group delivers a simple but clear message: when “you” and “I” become “us,” everything feels more exciting and complete.

Six Tracks Show Hearts2Hearts’ Sparkling Sound

The second mini album includes six songs: ‘Lemon Tang,’ ‘15-LOVE,’ ‘Baby Steps,’ ‘heart emoji,’ ‘Secret Recipe,’ and ‘RUDE!’

The album is designed to feel like a bright summer day, filled with freedom, energy, and youthful confidence.

Jiwoo also shared that the album hides a “heart” theme across the tracks, making the project feel closely connected to the group’s identity. Listeners can enjoy the songs while looking for small heart-related details throughout the album.

Stella said the group had a busy and meaningful first half of the year thanks to the love they received for ‘RUDE!’ She added that this comeback will show a cooler and more refreshing side of Hearts2Hearts.

Okinawa Music Video Highlights a Fresh Summer Story

The music video for ‘Lemon Tang’ was filmed in Okinawa, Japan.

With blue seas, beaches, and lemon farms in the background, the video highlights the group’s bright and youthful charm. It also marked the members’ first overseas location shoot.

Ian shared that the music video includes a story in which youngest member Yeon becomes interested in a boy driving a lemon truck. She said Yeon’s surprised and shy acting was especially cute, encouraging viewers to pay attention to that part.

The Okinawa setting gives the comeback a stronger summer atmosphere and matches the song’s sweet, tangy concept.

Performance Focuses on Fresh Energy and Teamwork

Hearts2Hearts also introduced the performance for ‘Lemon Tang’ during the showcase.

The choreography features a point move that looks like squeezing a lemon with the hands. The group’s signature symmetrical formations, including four-on-four structures and straight-line arrangements, also appear in the performance.

Jueun said choreographer Jo Nain, who previously worked on ‘FOCUS’ and ‘RUDE!’, participated again. She explained that the members worked hard to express the message of sending feelings from heart to heart.

The performance combines sharp synchronization with a playful summer mood, showing both the group’s technical strength and fresh charm.

Hearts2Hearts Joins SM’s Summer Song Legacy

With ‘Lemon Tang,’ Hearts2Hearts is also aiming to continue SM Entertainment’s long tradition of memorable summer songs.

The comeback arrives around the same time as aespa’s ‘Lemonade,’ creating interest in how the two SM girl groups will express different “lemon” concepts.

Jiwoo said aespa’s lemon concept feels more thrilling and sharp, while Hearts2Hearts brings a sweeter and more refreshing flavor.

The group hopes ‘Lemon Tang’ can become a song people naturally think of during summer.

Hearts2Hearts Aims for a Breakout Summer

Hearts2Hearts has already gained attention with its earlier releases, but ‘Lemon Tang’ gives the group a chance to strengthen its public image as a bright and energetic rookie act.

Carmen said the group wants to be loved for ‘Lemon Tang’ after receiving support for ‘RUDE!’ in the first half of the year.

Yuha added that every member’s vocal tone stands out in the new title track, saying each part has its own charm.

With a catchy concept, refreshing sound, and a message centered on togetherness, ‘Lemon Tang’ positions Hearts2Hearts as one of the K-pop groups to watch this summer.
