The March 2027 event will bring K-pop and Indian artists together in New Delhi, advancing HYBE’s plan to build a localized music ecosystem in one of the world’s most promising entertainment markets.

HYBE is taking Weverse Con Festival beyond South Korea for the first time, selecting India as the starting point for the event’s international expansion.

Weverse Con Festival India 2027 will be held in the New Delhi region on March 27 and 28, 2027. The two-day festival will feature both K-pop acts and Indian artists, creating a cross-cultural lineup designed for local audiences as well as international fans.

BookMyShow’s official event page currently lists the festival as an English and Hindi event encompassing K-pop, pop and indie music. BookMyShow Live will also participate in producing and promoting the festival, giving HYBE an experienced local partner for ticketing, venue operations and large-scale concert production.

The exact venue, artist lineup, ticket prices and sales schedule have not yet been announced. Any performers circulating through social media should therefore be treated as speculation until HYBE or BookMyShow releases an official lineup.

Weverse Con leaves Korea after four annual editions

Weverse Con Festival was introduced in 2023 as a multi-artist event combining live performances with the fan-focused culture surrounding the Weverse platform.

Its first four editions were staged in South Korea, with the festival developing a format that extended beyond a conventional concert. Recent editions have included large indoor performances, outdoor festival areas, interactive fan programs and stages featuring artists from different generations and musical backgrounds.

The 2026 festival took place at Seoul Olympic Park, using venues including KSPO Dome and the 88 Lawn Field. Approximately 30 artists participated, while a combined 34,000 online and in-person viewers reportedly attended.

One of Weverse Con’s recognizable features has been its tribute stage, which introduces the work of influential Korean musicians to younger audiences through performances by contemporary artists. HYBE has not confirmed whether the tribute format or every feature of the Seoul festival will be reproduced in India.

The Indian edition is nevertheless expected to include more than concerts. Early information points to fan engagement programs, brand activations and cultural experiences built around the relationship between artists and their communities.

Why HYBE chose India for its first overseas edition

India’s selection is closely connected to HYBE’s wider localization strategy.

HYBE India, headquartered in Mumbai, describes its mission as creating Indian stories capable of reaching global audiences while remaining rooted in the country’s cultural identity. That language suggests the company is not approaching India simply as another destination for touring Korean artists.

Its plans include discovering local talent, developing artists and producing content for Indian audiences. HYBE India has already launched audition initiatives, including an augmented reality-supported project with Snap India aimed at finding members for a globally oriented girl group.

The presence of Indian performers at Weverse Con Festival India could give emerging local artists access to an international festival brand and audiences already connected through Weverse. For HYBE, it also offers an opportunity to determine how its artist development, live entertainment and fandom platform businesses can operate together in India.

HYBE CEO Jason Jaesang Lee has described the company’s broader direction as a “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy. Instead of relying exclusively on Korean artists to reach overseas listeners, the company is attempting to establish local operations that can discover talent and create music within different markets.

Under that model, Weverse Con India is not merely an exported Korean festival. It can function as a public showcase for the ecosystem HYBE is trying to develop in the country.

BookMyShow partnership adds crucial local expertise

The partnership with BookMyShow Live is another important part of the expansion.

Producing a major festival in a new market requires knowledge of local venues, regulations, ticketing behavior, transportation and audience expectations. Working with an established Indian entertainment company gives HYBE access to infrastructure and market experience that cannot be built immediately from outside the country.

BookMyShow’s current listing places the event in Delhi NCR, but the final venue remains unconfirmed. It also lists a scheduled start time of 2 p.m. and an eight-hour duration, although detailed daily schedules could change as the festival approaches.

The collaboration may also help HYBE reach audiences beyond existing Weverse users. India has a large, digitally active K-pop community, but converting online interest into a sustainable live-event market requires locally accessible ticketing, promotion and fan experiences.

A test of HYBE’s long-term India strategy

Weverse Con Festival India will provide an early test of whether HYBE can translate its global fandom model into a locally grounded entertainment business.

The strongest indication of long-term intent is the combination of several moves: establishing HYBE India, launching local auditions, developing Indian talent and now bringing one of the company’s flagship festivals to New Delhi.

The decision also distinguishes this project from a one-off K-pop concert. Placing Indian and Korean artists within the same festival creates the possibility of shared audiences, creative exchanges and future collaborations. If successful, the format could be repeated in other countries where HYBE is building local operations.

There are still major unanswered questions. Fans are waiting to learn which artists will appear, where the festival will take place, how tickets will be priced and whether performances will be streamed internationally through Weverse.

Those announcements will ultimately determine the festival’s reach and accessibility. For now, the confirmed move to India already represents a significant turning point.

After four years in South Korea, Weverse Con is becoming an international festival. More importantly, HYBE is signaling that India is no longer being viewed only as an audience for K-pop, but as a potential home for artists, content and fandom communities capable of reaching the wider world.
