IVE member Jang Wonyoung has attracted attention with a new set of photographs featuring a sparkling pink two-piece outfit, but the coverage surrounding the images has quickly expanded beyond fashion.
In the photos shared on Aug. 5, Wonyoung wears a coordinated sequin set with her hair tied back, allowing the reflective styling to take center stage. Her caption loosely translates to, “For sparkle and glowing skin, Wonyoung.”
Some Korean reports connected the photographs to Wonyoung’s physique and described her eating habits as a high-protein diet. However, her verified public comments about food present a more varied and considerably less restrictive picture.
Why Wonyoung’s Eating Habits Cannot Be Reduced to an Idol Diet / Jang Wonyoung’s Instagram updateWhat Wonyoung Has Actually Shared About Food
One of the clearest glimpses into Wonyoung’s eating preferences came during her January 2025 appearance on JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator. The program revealed ingredients from her refrigerator, including Korean beef, vegetables, mushrooms, cheese, honey, oils and desserts.
Wonyoung explained that she genuinely enjoys vegetables and does not keep them solely for dieting. She also expressed the belief that a satisfying meal should include a salad. At the same time, the refrigerator contained richer ingredients such as goat cheese, macadamia ice cream and truffle oil.
The episode also highlighted her interest in Korean beef, accompanied by different salts and wasabi for particular cuts. That preference supports describing beef as one food she enjoys, but it does not establish that she follows a formal high-protein diet for weight management.
Her tastes are not limited to stereotypical “diet foods,” either. Wonyoung has said she prefers creamy and cheese-rich flavors and does not handle spicy food particularly well. Taken together, these disclosures suggest variety and personal enjoyment rather than a rigid menu designed around restriction.
No Verified Wonyoung Diet Has Been Made Public
The latest Korean report attributes the statement “I don’t simply starve myself” to Wonyoung’s appearance on the YouTube program Psick Show. However, WIKIPICKY could not independently confirm that quotation in available material from the cited episode.
That distinction matters because celebrity food preferences are frequently repackaged online as diet programs. Enjoying beef or regularly eating salad does not, by itself, prove that someone follows a specialized weight-loss plan.
Wonyoung has not publicly released a complete daily meal plan, calorie target or medically supervised fitness program. Any content claiming to reveal the definitive “Wonyoung diet” should therefore be treated cautiously unless it includes a clear first-hand source.
Why Wonyoung’s Eating Habits Cannot Be Reduced to an Idol Diet / Jang Wonyoung’s Instagram updateWhy High Protein Does Not Tell the Whole Story
Protein is necessary for maintaining and repairing body tissue, but nutrition authorities do not recommend building a healthy diet around protein alone.
The World Health Organization describes adequacy, balance, moderation and diversity as the foundations of a healthy diet. Carbohydrates remain an important energy source, while dietary fats, vitamins and minerals also perform essential functions. USDA MyPlate similarly recommends varying protein sources rather than relying on a single food.
It would also be misleading to explain Wonyoung’s appearance through one ingredient or eating habit. A carefully styled photograph cannot reveal a person’s overall health, nutrition or private routine, and an idol’s body should not be treated as a universal standard for fans.
The more meaningful story behind Wonyoung’s food disclosures is not a secret diet. It is that her publicly documented preferences include vegetables and protein alongside cheese, oils, honey and desserts. That reality is far more balanced than the restrictive eating narrative frequently attached to female idols.
