MAMAMOO may be known for their strong chemistry, but the members recently proved that even the closest friendships can go through messy moments. On the June 8 episode of YouTube show ‘Zzanbro Shin Dong-yup’ MAMAMOO members Solar, Moonbyul, Hwasa, and Wheein opened up about their early days together, including dorm life, arguments, and the conflicts that helped shape their bond as a team.
Among the stories shared, one of the most surprising came from longtime friends Wheein and Hwasa, who revealed that they once got into a physical fight while drunk.

During the episode, the members spoke honestly about how often they fought during their younger years.
Solar recalled that she and Moonbyul used to argue frequently in the past. Looking back, she said those fights were possible because they were young and had the physical energy to express their emotions more directly.
She added that as they have grown older, arguments have naturally become less intense. Instead of clashing physically or emotionally for long periods, the members now tend to talk things out.
Moonbyul agreed, saying the members fought so openly and intensely in the past that it may have helped them become more comfortable with one another now.
Wheein and Hwasa’s Drunken Fight Story
The biggest confession came when Wheein talked about a fight she once had with Hwasa.
Wheein said she and Hwasa had actually exchanged punches before. Hwasa then added that they had been drunk at the time, making the story even more unexpected. According to Wheein, the two were initially being affectionate and hugging each other. But a small, insignificant issue suddenly escalated, and emotions quickly took over.
She said the argument turned physical, with the two hitting and kicking each other in the heat of the moment.

Wheein also explained that she and Hwasa remembered the incident differently.
She said she is the type of person who does not usually black out after drinking, so she remembered the situation clearly. Hwasa, however, was more likely to lose parts of her memory when drinking, which led to different versions of what happened that night.
After the fight, the two reportedly remained awkward around each other for about a week before eventually making up.
A Friendship That Survived the Fight
Wheein and Hwasa are known to have been close friends since middle school, long before they debuted together as members of MAMAMOO.
Because of that history, their story drew attention not only for its shocking detail, but also because it showed how honest and long-lasting their relationship is.
Rather than presenting their friendship as perfect, the episode revealed the more realistic side of being close: misunderstandings, emotional moments, and reconciliation.
MAMAMOO’s Chemistry Comes From Real History
The members’ candid stories also reminded fans why MAMAMOO’s team chemistry feels so natural.
Their bond was not built overnight. It came from years of living together, working together, arguing, making up, and growing older as both artists and friends.
Although Wheein and Hwasa’s drunken fight surprised viewers, the way they laughed about it years later showed that the incident has become another unforgettable chapter in MAMAMOO’s long friendship.
For fans, the story was a reminder that MAMAMOO’s closeness is not just stage chemistry. It is the result of a real relationship that has survived both conflict and time.
