Meovv Returns With ‘bite Now,’ Turning Its Cat-like Charm Into A Fierce New Era

MEOVV is no longer just playing with feline charm. With its new mini album ‘Bite Now,’ the group is sharpening its claws and stepping into a wilder, more powerful version of itself.

MEOVV held a showcase on June 1 at Cube Convention Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of its second mini album, ‘Bite Now.’ The comeback marks the group’s first new album in about eight months and signals a major shift in concept, performance, and musical ambition. This time, MEOVV is aiming to prove growth across every part of its identity from sound and visuals to choreography and stage presence.

As Narin put it, the group has grown “from cats into beasts.”

MEOVV Takes On a Wilder Image

For ‘Bite Now,’ MEOVV wanted to show a side of itself that had not been fully revealed before. The members described the album as a project filled with stronger energy, sharper expression, and a more untamed mood. Suin said the group prepared an album that blends both cute and intense sides, aiming to show the charm of a “lovable predator.”

That contrast appears to be the core of MEOVV’s new identity. The group is not abandoning its playful image, but transforming it into something more daring and instinctive.

MEOVV’s first mini album, ‘My Eyes Open Wide,’ introduced the group’s musical direction. According to Narin, that album served as a signal of what kind of music MEOVV wanted to make. With ‘Bite Now,’ the members wanted to go further.

Instead of simply continuing the same style, they focused on pulling up their abilities and showing a more complete version of themselves. The preparation process was reportedly intense, with the members paying close attention to even the smallest details.

Gawon shared that all five members helped direct one another during recording. Producer TEDDY encouraged the members to listen closely to each other’s parts and give feedback, helping them shape the album as a team. Suin also said the group had once thought its previous album was the most difficult project they could imagine, but ‘Bite Now’ pushed them beyond that limit.

A Five-Track Album With a Stronger Bite

‘Bite Now’ includes five songs: ‘Hit Em,’ ‘Ddirori,’ ‘In My Hands,’ ‘Favorite Song,’ and ‘Revenge.’

The title track is ‘Ddirori,’ a song designed to express overwhelming power and wild intensity.

One of the most striking features of the track is its use of a melody inspired by Bach’s ‘Toccata and Fugue in D minor.’ By reinterpreting the classical piece with a hip, modern twist, MEOVV aimed to create a grander and more dramatic sound.

Narin explained that the group wanted to bring out a classical and majestic mood through the sample while reshaping it with MEOVV’s own color.

Members Join the Lyrics for a Rawer Message

The album also carries a stronger personal touch because Narin, Ella, and Gawon participated in writing lyrics.

Narin said she focused on making the words more direct and intense. Gawon added that she thought carefully about how to express a rawer kind of charm through the lyrics.

That effort fits the album’s overall concept. ‘Bite Now’ is not just about looking fierce. It is about sounding more confident, more instinctive, and more willing to show sharp edges. The killing part of ‘Ddirori’ comes in the chorus, where the lyric “ddirori” becomes the centerpiece. Narin said the group thought deeply about how to express that part, asking listeners to pay attention to the members’ delivery and performance.

MEOVV prepared choreography for three songs for this comeback.

At the showcase, the group performed ‘Ddirori’ and ‘Hit Em,’ revealing two different sides of its stage identity. The performance for ‘Ddirori’ moved away from the group’s previous hip and energetic image. Instead, it felt more dramatic, bold, and elegant. Choreography inspired by the claws of a beast appeared throughout the stage, emphasizing the album’s predator-like concept.

During the highlight section, the members raised their claw-like gestures and moved with a marching force, creating a more commanding visual impact.

The chorus used an upward arm movement to leave a strong impression, while Anna and Suin added intensity through expressive acting in the first and second verses.

‘Hit Em’ Brings a Boxer-Like Energy

The ‘Hit Em’ performance delivered a more heated and physical mood.

The members appeared wearing glove-like accessories reminiscent of boxers, matching the song’s competitive energy. Their expressions shifted between fierce determination and relaxed confidence, showing both aggression and control. The choreography was even more explosive than the title track. The performance included group headbanging, Ella’s tumbling move, and final movements that resembled running with hands on the floor.

Together, the two stages showed that MEOVV’s comeback is focused not only on concept, but also on performance range.

MEOVV Wants to Be Called “MEOVV-chelin”

When asked what kind of nickname they wanted to earn through this comeback, Gawon answered confidently: “MEOVV-chelin.”

The phrase plays on Michelin, suggesting that the group wants to be seen as an act that delivers a high-quality “taste” in music, performance, and visuals. Gawon said the nickname reflects their confidence as artists who can make the stage feel “delicious.”

Anna also raised anticipation for ‘In My Hands,’ saying the group prepared cute choreography they had never tried before. Narin recommended ‘Favorite Song,’ a track she helped write, explaining that she felt especially attached to it because the members created it while acting out situations together.

MEOVV’s Fiercest Chapter Begins

With ‘Bite Now,’ MEOVV is presenting a more ambitious version of itself. The album combines classical sampling, direct lyrics, fierce choreography, member participation, and a concept that turns the group’s cat-like image into something more powerful.

This comeback is not just about returning after eight months. It is about showing that MEOVV is ready to grow sharper, louder, and more unpredictable.

If their earlier releases introduced the group’s charm, ‘Bite Now’ may be the moment MEOVV proves it can bite.
