Ryu Jun Yeol’s ‘field Mouse’ Hits Netflix Global Top 5 Just Three Days After Release

According to Netflix’s latest Global Top 10 rankings, “Field Mouse” landed at No. 5 among non-English TV shows after premiering on August 28.

The series recorded around 2 million views in its first three days, based on Netflix’s calculation of total viewing hours divided by runtime. It also entered the Top 10 in 13 countries, including South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Qatar.

What Is ‘Field Mouse’ About?

“Field Mouse” is a mystery chase thriller built around a disturbing identity-theft premise.

Ryu Jun Yeol plays Moon Jae, a novelist whose name, face and entire life are suddenly stolen by a mysterious figure known only as “Field Mouse.”

His search for the truth becomes entangled with No Ja, a private moneylender trying to recover missing money, and Soon Yong, a detective pursuing the same mysterious target.

As the three characters close in on the truth, the series develops into a tense battle of suspicion, deception and shifting identities.

The drama also stars Sol Kyung Gu and Lee Kyu Hyung.

A Dark Folklore-Inspired Thriller

One of the biggest draws of “Field Mouse” is its unusual concept, which incorporates elements inspired by traditional folklore.

The drama combines that foundation with an unpredictable pursuit narrative, strong character clashes and an unidentified figure at the center of the mystery.

Its darker atmosphere and unusual premise have helped the series attract attention from both Korean and international viewers.

Korean Dramas Continue to Perform Strongly on Netflix

“Field Mouse” was not the only Korean title to place high on Netflix’s latest global rankings.

tvN drama “Spooky Romance,” which is available for replay through Netflix, ranked No. 3 with around 2.3 million views.

Netflix original series “This Damn Love” followed closely at No. 4 with approximately 2.2 million views.

That means three Korean dramas occupied consecutive spots inside the global Top 5 for non-English television content.

With “Field Mouse” reaching No. 5 only days after release, the thriller is now one of the latest Korean series to gain momentum with international Netflix audiences.
