The three-track release arrives October 20, following collaborations with YUJU on “Mind Games” and ZICO on “Tic Tac Toe.”
Onew is bringing a playful streetwear look to the final stretch of his comeback rollout.
The SHINee member released the first concept photos for his upcoming single album 착각 on October 14. Posing against a printed New York cityscape, he pairs casual styling with mischievous gestures, setting an easygoing visual tone ahead of the October 20 release.
The photos introduce another side of a project that has already brought together two distinct collaborators: YUJU and ZICO.

According to OSEN, the first photo set places Onew in front of a backdrop printed with New York streets.
His relaxed clothes and expressive poses create a free-spirited atmosphere. The setting is a photographic backdrop, rather than confirmation that the shoot took place in New York.
The images build anticipation for the album’s remaining song after listeners received two advance releases.
Three Songs Explore Different Interpretations
착각, a Korean word that can mean “misconception” or “illusion,” explores how people interpret the same experience differently and the emotions those differences produce.
The single album contains three tracks: the title song “착각,” “Mind Games” and “Tic Tac Toe.”
That shared theme gives the compact track list a connecting idea, while the collaborations introduce different combinations of voices and performance styles.
The complete release is scheduled for October 20 at 6 p.m. KST on major music platforms.
YUJU and ZICO Join the Rollout
Onew first previewed the project with “Mind Games,” his collaboration with YUJU, on September 29.
“Tic Tac Toe,” featuring ZICO, followed on October 7. Korean coverage reported that it reached No. 1 on the Bugs real-time chart on its release day.
That result refers specifically to Bugs’ real-time ranking, rather than a weekly chart or an all-platform chart position.
By releasing the collaborations first, Onew has allowed listeners to hear two parts of the project before the title track completes the album.
SHINee’s Onew Embraces Streetwear for His New Three-Track Single Album / Official XEditor’s Note: Another Format in Onew’s Solo Catalog
The new three-track release follows earlier projects that gave Onew more space to develop his solo sound.
Among them was Circle, his first Korean full-length solo album, released in March 2023. SHINee’s official Japanese website documented the digital release and a listening campaign centered on “O (Circle).”
The contrast in format is useful context: 착각 offers a shorter project, with each song receiving attention through a staggered rollout.
From an editorial perspective, the collaborations and playful concept photos suggest an emphasis on variety within that compact structure. The title track will provide the final piece when the full single album arrives on October 20.
