‘FLOAT’ and ‘Gooey’ Lead the Album as Double Title Tracks

“PHASE 1 : Soft Violence” features two title tracks, “FLOAT” and “Gooey.” The two songs are intended to highlight opposite moods. “FLOAT” evokes a light, sweet and rising sensation, while “Gooey” leans into a hotter, heavier and more intense atmosphere.

That contrast reflects the broader concept of the album, allowing Taemin to showcase two different sides of his performance style within the same project.

The tracklist also includes the previously released intro “This Is The End,” along with new songs such as “Easy Loving You” and “SKIN.”

Fans will also find “Let Me Be The One,” “Sober” and “PARASITE,” tracks Taemin previously performed at Coachella in April.

Taemin Has Been One of K-pop’s Busiest Artists in 2026

Taemin has maintained a packed schedule throughout the year. In March, he released “Long Way Home,” his first English-language song.

He followed that in May with “PERMISSION,” a track that had first been introduced during his 2026 Coachella performance.

At the same time, Taemin remained active with SHINee. The group returned in June with its sixth mini album “Atmos,” ending a roughly year-long gap between group comebacks.

Taemin also took the Coachella stage in April, adding another major international festival appearance to his 2026 schedule.

His First Solo Mini Album in About Two Years

Despite remaining active with singles and live performances, Taemin had not released a full solo mini album since his fifth EP “Eternal.”

“PHASE 1 : Soft Violence” therefore marks his first album-format solo comeback in approximately two years. After announcing a move to a new agency in March, Taemin accelerated his solo activities, releasing two singles in the first half of the year before preparing the new EP.

The album brings together several tracks he had been developing over time, giving fans a more complete look at the musical direction of his latest era.

Taemin Returns With a Sharper Visual Identity

The teasers released ahead of the album have also drawn attention for their striking and artistic imagery.
