Kim You-jung explained the thoughtful reason behind her co-star’s position change at their drama’s press event.

A small adjustment during a photo call had a simple explanation: Park Jinyoung wanted photographers to get a clearer view of Kim You-jung’s face.

The actors revisited the moment while appearing on Netflix Korea’s YouTube variety show 홍보하러 온 건 맞는데 in an episode released on October 17, according to News1.

Kim You-jung engaged in a conversation while sitting on a couch. The setting features a cozy living room atmosphere with colorful decor, including a globe and sports items in the background. A hairstyle detail behind the switch

Host Yoo Byung-jae brought up footage from the press event for their tvN drama 100 Days of Deception, also known as 100 Days of Lies.

He admitted that he had initially struggled to understand why Jinyoung was trying to exchange positions with Kim during the photo session.

Kim explained that the arrangement of her hair was the reason. Her co-star had noticed and switched places so her face would be more visible to the cameras.

She acknowledged that, without that context, the movement might simply have looked like the two were going back and forth.

Jinyoung offered a modest explanation of his own, saying it was something he usually did and that the gesture had come naturally.

From a lighthearted exchange to a dangerous screen romance

The appearance gave the co-stars a chance to explain a brief moment from their promotional schedule while introducing their new historical drama.

Set in 1932 Gyeongseong, present-day Seoul, 100 Days of Deception follows a skilled pickpocket who becomes a spy and an elite interpreter working within Japan’s colonial administration.

Their encounter unfolds at the heart of enemy territory, combining espionage with a romance shaped by secrets and conflicting loyalties.

The series airs on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:10 p.m. KST.

Editor’s Note

Gyeongseong was the name used for Seoul during Japan’s colonial rule of Korea. The drama places its fictional romance within that historical setting, with Kim You-jung’s character drawn into the independence movement. Its ensemble also includes Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Moo-saeng and Jin Sun-kyu, expanding the story beyond the central couple to a wider network of resistance figures and colonial officials.
